The building of 22 Ropemaker is progressing rapidly, and the vision of what we are creating here is becoming clearer with each day. We commissioned photographer Lee Mawdsley to capture the story of the building as it develops.
INSTALLING THE FACADE
Crème Royal limestone, quarried in Portugal, will define the colour of 22 Ropemaker’s rhythmic facade. In a bright beige colour, it will blend with Islington’s traditional stonework.
In recessed areas, darker tones of anthracite ceramic will offset the pale limestone and add contrast, while Swedish black granite around the base will provide a visually robust note.
FROM STEELWORKS TO SITE
22 Ropemaker will be a new landmark for the City, built in stone as a timeless part of London.
